Field Note#2: if you never read this
I tend to capture my creative impulses and ideas in a journal, then see where they might fit: a newsletter? A workshop? A blog?
I’m looking to turn something I love into something useful or productive.
Today, it’s easier than ever to get set up with the latest free email marketing platform or post a video within minutes. The venues for self-expression are endless.
Although I’m a big fan of testing our creative impulses, I sometimes ask myself: does every creative impulse need that full-on entrepreneurial drive to showcase it?
I’ve been prone to taking on too much, too fast, and not allowing enough time to savour the few creative impulses that are right in front of me.
I’m realizing that entrepreneurial thinking doesn’t always need an audience. I can just revel in the quietness of my soul as I read the poem I wrote. Or delight in spontaneously dancing to an upbeat song, by myself, on a Friday night in my living room.
After all, if no one reads this Field Note, I’m still satisfied I wrote it.
Till next time. Travel light.
Field Notes are short dispatches that appear between Travel Light posts. Catch up on last week's post [here].
